Adobe Creative Touch was one of my final year projects at Brunel University. We were tasked to analyse a brand of our choice and then design and manufacture a high quality visual prototype of the product for the future of that brand.
As a designer, I naturally chose Adobe.
After carrying out a thorough brand analysis on Adobe and creating a professional brand report. I found there was a niche which Adobe hadn't yet ventured into. Hardware!
My concept for a product for Adobe was the 'Adobe Creative Touch'. This would be an all-in-one package that would incorporate all the software and the hardware that any creative professional would need in one device.
The 'Adobe Creative Touch' has the following features:
• All the apps from the Adobe Suite and additional 3D CAD software;
• An adjustable transparency touch screen to allow for tracing;
• An interactive touch frame which houses all the apps and tools at an easy reach;
• An ergonomic stylus in the shape of a pencil, including a curved end to mimic shading and rendering;
• A powerful HD micro-projector to provide an additional display for working or presenting; and
• A separate interactive holographic display unit to bring designs into the 3rd dimension.
The design of the product went through many months of research, design, prototyping and testing in order to ensure it was potentially feasible, ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing.
Most importantly it had to fit the Adobe brand.
